Terms of Service
The rules, responsibilities, and acceptable use requirements for CipherNode customers and services.
Last updated: June 1, 2026
1. Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of CipherNode websites, client area, game panel, Minecraft hosting services, support services, and related products. By creating an account, placing an order, paying an invoice, or using any CipherNode service, you agree to these Terms and any additional policies linked from our website.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not purchase, access, or use CipherNode services.
2. Services Provided
CipherNode provides game server hosting and related services, including Minecraft hosting, client account access, server control panel access, support, backups, and related infrastructure features. Service features may vary by plan, location, hardware availability, software type, and account status.
We may update, modify, improve, replace, or discontinue specific features when needed for performance, security, legal compliance, vendor changes, or service reliability.
3. Accounts and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account, client area, panel, database, SFTP, and server credentials. You are responsible for activity performed through your account or through subusers you authorize.
- Use a strong, unique password.
- Do not share your account password with other people.
- Only grant panel subuser permissions to people you trust.
- Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Billing, Payments, and Renewals
You agree to pay all invoices, fees, taxes, and charges associated with the services you order. Services may be suspended or terminated if invoices are unpaid, payment is reversed, payment is disputed, or fraud is suspected.
Prices, promotions, renewal rates, hardware availability, and plan features may change from time to time. Unless otherwise stated, recurring services renew at the active renewal price shown in your client area or invoice.
5. Acceptable Use
You may not use CipherNode services for illegal, abusive, harmful, or disruptive activity. Prohibited activity includes, but is not limited to:
- DDoS attacks, botnets, malware, phishing, credential theft, or unauthorized access attempts.
- Port scanning, network attacks, spam, proxy abuse, or traffic designed to disrupt other users or networks.
- Cryptocurrency mining or resource abuse unrelated to the purchased game hosting service.
- Hosting or distributing unlawful, infringing, hateful, exploitative, or harmful content.
- Attempting to bypass limits, abuse promotions, resell services without permission, or interfere with CipherNode infrastructure.
We may suspend or terminate services without refund if we determine that a service is being used in a way that harms CipherNode, other customers, upstream providers, networks, or the public.
6. Resource Usage and Fair Use
Services must be used in a manner consistent with the plan purchased. Shared hosting resources, including CPU, memory, storage, network, databases, and backup systems, must not be abused or used in a way that negatively affects other customers.
If your server causes excessive load, repeated crashes, network issues, storage abuse, or other infrastructure problems, we may ask you to optimize the server, upgrade the plan, remove problematic software, or temporarily suspend the service to protect platform stability.
7. Minecraft, Mods, Plugins, and Third-Party Software
You are responsible for the software, plugins, mods, worlds, datapacks, configuration files, licenses, and content you install on your server. Third-party software may have its own terms, licenses, security risks, or compatibility issues.
CipherNode is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Mojang Studios or Microsoft. You are responsible for complying with Minecraft's applicable terms, EULA, and usage guidelines.
8. Backups and Data Responsibility
CipherNode may provide automated and manual backup features. Our current Minecraft hosting backup offering includes automated off-site backups every 6 hours with 7-day retention, plus 5 manual backups where available for the plan.
Backups are provided as a convenience and risk-reduction feature, not as a guarantee against data loss. You remain responsible for maintaining your own separate copies of important worlds, files, databases, configurations, and account data.
9. Uptime, Maintenance, and Service Interruptions
We work to provide reliable hosting, but no hosting provider can guarantee uninterrupted service. Service interruptions may occur due to maintenance, hardware failure, software issues, network events, upstream provider problems, DDoS attacks, abuse mitigation, emergency security work, or events outside our control.
We may perform scheduled or emergency maintenance when needed to protect security, performance, and reliability.
10. Support Scope
CipherNode support can help with account access, billing issues, service provisioning, panel issues, server availability, and general hosting-related problems. Support may also review logs and provide guidance for common Minecraft server problems.
We do not guarantee full configuration, debugging, development, or repair of third-party plugins, mods, modpacks, custom jars, custom code, or player-created server networks.
11. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate services if you violate these Terms, fail to pay invoices, initiate abusive chargebacks, abuse resources, create security risks, violate applicable law, or use services in a way that may harm CipherNode or others.
Upon termination or cancellation, access to server files, backups, databases, and panel resources may be removed. Download any data you want to keep before cancelling or allowing a service to expire.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CipherNode is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data, lost gameplay progress, lost business, or service interruption damages. CipherNode's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the affected service during the billing period in which the issue occurred.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of CipherNode services after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
